[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Air Busan has delayed both directions of its Busan–Bali flight route by 24 hours due to volcanic ash clouds from an eruption in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara region.
According to industry sources on July 7, Air Busan's flight originally scheduled to depart Busan at 5:00 p.m. today, and the return flight from Bali at 12:05 a.m. local time on July 8, will both be postponed by 24 hours.
The delay follows the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki on Flores Island in the Lesser Sunda Islands, which sent volcanic ash high into the atmosphere.
This is not the first eruption in recent weeks; a similar event in mid-June caused dozens of flight cancellations at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport before operations resumed the next day.
