[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, June 18 – LG Innotek has announced plans to supply advanced camera modules to Figure AI, a U.S.-based humanoid robotics company known for its cutting-edge AI technology and backed by global investors including NVIDIA and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
According to industry sources, LG Innotek is currently finalizing details regarding the volume and pricing of the camera modules with Figure AI. Once finalized, this will mark LG Innotek's second major collaboration in the humanoid robotics sector, following its previous supply to Boston Dynamics. Initial shipments are expected to begin early next year.
Founded in 2022, Figure AI has quickly emerged as a frontrunner in the development of AI-powered humanoid robots. The company made headlines in March last year with the unveiling of its general-purpose humanoid robot, Figure 01. With a current valuation estimated at $39.5 billion, Figure AI has already signed supply agreements with major global corporations, including BMW.
Figure AI is reported to have chosen LG Innotek as a strategic partner due to the latter’s leading expertise in high-performance camera modules. These modules play a critical role in enabling humanoid robots to perceive and navigate their environment accurately—a core requirement for autonomous movement and interaction.
LG Innotek stated that the collaboration underscores its growing presence in next-generation robotics and AI applications, and reflects strong global demand for its optical and sensor technologies.
