[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung C&T sold its 200-megawatt (MW, 1MW is 1 million W) solar power business to Hanwha Solution.
In particular, the market is paying attention to the fact that Samsung and Hanwha have been making many deals based on friendly relations. Attention is focusing on whether Samsung C&T, which is making profits through the development of solar energy business rights in the U.S., and Hanwha Solution, which is looking into the power plant operation business, will continue to make a significant deal in the future.
According to Edaily on the 19th, Samsung Samsung Solar Energy2 (LLC), which is in charge of renewable energy in Samsung C&T's US corporation (Samsung C & T America), sold Ursa Solar (LCC), a solar power generation project in Wisconsin, to a local subsidiary of Korea Pixel Solutions.
After Samsung C&T completed all the licensing work before construction, it handed it over to Hanwha Solution, which needs the right to operate a solar power plant. The projects include on-site substations, operational and maintenance buildings (O & M), and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The size of the transaction was not known.
