[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] SK Hynix is projected to post operating profits in the 6 trillion won range for the third quarter, potentially surpassing the performance of Samsung Electronics’ Device Solutions (DS) division.

According to financial information provider FnGuide on the 14th, the consensus for SK Hynix's third-quarter earnings, as projected by financial investment firms, is an average sales figure of 18.03 trillion won and an operating profit of 6.76 trillion won.

This represents an increase of approximately 10% in sales and 24% in operating profit compared to the second quarter. Additionally, compared to the same period last year, when the company posted an operating loss, sales are expected to nearly double, showing a 99% increase.

If SK Hynix meets its consensus operating profit forecast of 6.76 trillion won for the third quarter, it is likely to significantly outperform Samsung Electronics' DS division, which is estimated to record operating profits in the 5 trillion won range.
