[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has launched investigations into the three major mobile carriers—SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus—amid allegations of unfair commission practices toward their distributors.

According to industry sources on the 23rd, the FTC sent investigators to conduct on-site inspections at SKT, KT, and LG Uplus recently.

The FTC is reportedly looking into suspicions that the telecommunications companies violated the Distributorship Act by unfairly differentiating the subscriber commissions paid to their distributors. They have begun gathering related documents as part of the investigation.

An FTC official stated, "We cannot provide details regarding the investigation."
