[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] GC Biopharma announced on the 23rd that its flu vaccine, 'GCFLU,' has secured all bid volumes in Thailand's national vaccination program for the second consecutive year. The bid was organized by the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), a state-owned pharmaceutical company under the Thai government.
GC Biopharma first entered the Thai flu vaccine market in 2014. In this latest bid, it secured 4.07 million doses (single-dose vaccines), pushing its cumulative supply in Thailand to over 10 million doses. GCFLU is exported to 63 countries worldwide, with the number of export countries and volumes growing annually.
The company attributed its success in international markets to support from South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, including efforts to expedite vaccine export approvals and national lot release schedules since last year. Given the seasonal nature of flu vaccines, the ability to respond quickly to demand is critical.
