[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] An Air Premia flight departing from Los Angeles (LAX) to Incheon International Airport was delayed after tire damage was discovered just before takeoff, causing inconvenience to passengers.
On June 6, Air Premia announced that flight YP102, scheduled to depart at 10:50 a.m. local time on June 5, was forced to return to the terminal when ground crew identified damage to one of the aircraft’s tires during final checks.
The flight was carrying 258 passengers. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, passengers were required to wait at the airport terminal for nearly 14 hours while the aircraft underwent emergency maintenance.
Air Premia secured replacement parts locally in Los Angeles and completed necessary repairs. The airline expects the flight to depart at approximately 4:40 p.m. KST on June 6.
