[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] A series of system errors on mobile brokerage platforms caused temporary inconvenience for investors in South Korea.
On the evening of Feb. 26, Toss Securities experienced an error in which the available order balance in Korean won was displayed incorrectly. From around 8:17 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, discrepancies of several million won appeared between figures shown on the mobile trading system (MTS) and the web trading system (WTS).
The company said the issue stemmed from a temporary malfunction in its margin management system and stressed that actual trading orders were not affected.
On the following day, Feb. 27, Kakao Pay Securities also experienced service delays shortly after the regular trading session opened. While stock orders could still be placed, some app functions were not operating smoothly. Services were fully restored at around 9:29 a.m.
