[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Hyundai Steel has lost a legal challenge seeking to overturn a labor commission ruling that classified its refusal to bargain with subcontractor workers as an unfair labor practice.



According to the legal community on July 25, the Seoul Administrative Court’s 3rd Division (Chief Judge Choi Su-jin) dismissed Hyundai Steel’s lawsuit against the chairperson of the Central Labor Relations Commission (CLRC), which aimed to nullify the commission’s corrective order regarding unfair labor practices.



In a separate but related case, Hanwha Ocean (formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering) filed a similar lawsuit and won a partial judgment in its favor.
