[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Bithumb Korea, a virtual asset exchange, recorded an annual sales of 135.8 billion won in 2023, down 58% from a year earlier.
Bithumb Korea announced its 2023 performance in a business report on the 1st. The operating loss for the same period was 14.9 billion won, and net profit for the current term was 24.3 billion won, down 75 percent from a year earlier. However, net profit continued to be in the black for four consecutive years.
The main reason for last year's drop in sales was a drop in transaction payments due to worsening virtual asset market conditions. On top of that, the burden increased as the company carried out a free transaction fee policy in the fourth quarter.
