[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Display announced on the 28th that it has supplied transparent OLED for railways for the first time in Korea to the recently opened Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit (GTX)-A line.
GTX is a means of transportation that connects major hubs in downtown Seoul from the outskirts of the metropolitan area. The 55-inch transparent OLED, which is applied to the GTX-A room window this time, provides passengers with a glimpse of the route map, operation and convenience information.
In particular, the clear-definition large-screen display increases visibility, and provides passengers with a different experience because they can enjoy various entertainment while traveling for a long time.
LG Display explained that it is much stronger against impact and vibration by applying special tempered glass to operate stably even on trains running at speeds of more than 150 kilometers per hour.
LG Display and GTX-A project developer SG Rail first introduced transparent OLED 16s to eight trains (one train) between Suseo and Dongtan. In the future, we plan to collect opinions from users and expand them to the entire GTX-A.
