[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Hanwha Aerospace has decided to intensify its focus on its core aerospace and defense sectors by spinning off its subsidiaries Hanwha Vision and Hanwha Precision Machinery.
On the 14th, Hanwha Aerospace held an extraordinary general meeting at the Seongnam Chamber of Commerce in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and passed the "Approval of the Split Plan."
The company plans to separate its AI solutions subsidiary Hanwha Vision and its next-generation semiconductor equipment business, Hanwha Precision Machinery, and to refocus on defense by consolidating the companies Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Ocean, and Hanwha Systems.
To this end, a new holding company named Hanwha Industrial Solutions (tentative) will be established to oversee the industrial solutions business. This new entity will fully own Hanwha Vision and Hanwha Precision Machinery.
Following the spin-off, Hanwha Corporation will hold 33.95% stakes in both Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Industrial Solutions. The restructuring will place Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Industrial Solutions as intermediate holding companies under Hanwha Corporation.
This decision aims to maximize management efficiency and position Hanwha Aerospace as a global comprehensive defense solutions provider by focusing on defense business.
