According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 24th, 3,284 defects of GS Engineering & Construction were filed with the Defect Review Dispute Mediation Committee for five years from January 2019 to February 2024. The Defect Review Dispute Mediation Committee ruled that 50.1% of them were defective. Currently, 124 cases are under review. Gyeryong Construction Industry (533 cases) was the second most damaged construction company. Daebang Construction (513 cases), SM Merchant Marine (413 cases), and Daemyung Construction (368 cases) followed.

Daesong was the construction company that received the most defects in the last six months (September 2023 to February 2024). During this period, 257 cases of defects were received, 246 of which were found to be defects. Hyundai Engineering (109 cases), GV Construction (85 cases), and Taeyoung Construction (76 cases) were followed by the number of defects.

Construction companies should report the defects to the commission after repairing them. The review committee is required to deliver construction companies that did not notify the results of the repair to each local government and impose fines of up to 10 million won.
