[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On the 20th, E-Mart announced that starting from the 1st of next month, the operating hours of 68 stores nationwide will be extended by one hour, from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.
This decision comes over a year after implementing shortened operating hours in April last year to reduce costs such as labor and electricity expenses.
Under the leadership of CEO Han Chaeyang, who prioritizes strengthening the company's core competitiveness, E-Mart has introduced various promotions such as "price shock declaration" and "price rollback" since the beginning of this year, receiving significant positive responses from customers.
Leveraging these initiatives, E-Mart achieved a 245% increase in operating profit in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
Currently, it is known that Homeplus and Lotte Mart, which operate until 10 p.m., do not have plans to adjust their operating hours.
