[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] HJ Shipbuilding & Construction announced on the 20th that it has signed a contract with a European shipowner to build two eco-friendly 7,900 TEU container ships, valued at a total of $220 million.
The contract includes an option for the shipowner to order an additional two vessels in the future, potentially increasing the total order value to approximately 600 billion KRW (about $460 million).
The container ships ordered by HJ Shipbuilding & Construction feature advanced eco-friendly equipment while maximizing fuel efficiency and container capacity. They also fully comply with various environmental regulations set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
