[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Netmarble employees have established the Netmarble Labor Union under the auspices of the Korea Federation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Food and Chemical Industry Trade Union. It becomes the seventh union in the domestic gaming industry. With this, unions have been established for all three major players in the gaming industry, known as the '3N' (Nexon, NCSoft, Netmarble).
On the 7th, Netmarble workers officially launched the Netmarble Labor Union under the Korea Federation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Food and Chemical Industry Trade Union. It is open to all employees, including those of affiliated companies. The union demanded transparent disclosure and fair decision-making regarding incentive policies, salary increase rates, revenue, as well as employment stability and respect for workers' rights and dignity.
According to the National Pension Service, while the number of employees at Netmarble's headquarters has remained at a similar level compared to two years ago, major subsidiaries have not been able to avoid reducing their workforce. The number of National Pension Service subscribers at Netmarble Monster decreased by 81 to 424 last month compared to April 2022. Similarly, Netmarble Nexus and Healer.b also saw decreases during the same period.
The number of subscribers at Netmarble N2 increased from 564 in April 2022 to 593 last month. However, considering that Netmarble N2 absorbed Netmarble N Park as a group affiliate in July 2022, it actually decreased. During the same period, Netmarble FNC increased from 734 to 757, but it is difficult to see it as an actual increase when considering the increase in manpower due to the absorption and merger of Ace Factory.
