[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Three LG Group affiliates—LG CNS, LG Electronics, and LG Energy Solution—have jointly won a $300 million (approximately 421.6 billion KRW) contract to build an AI data center in Jakarta, Indonesia. The project, scheduled for completion by 2026, underscores LG Group’s commitment to leveraging its synergies to expand into advanced technology markets like AI.
The three companies have formed a unified entity, "One LG Solution," to combine their expertise for the project.
LG CNS, with extensive experience in IT solutions, cloud, AI, data centers, and smart city projects, will lead the digital transformation efforts. The company has a strong track record in Indonesia, including smart city consulting for the new capital, building a tax administration system, and participating in Jakarta’s light rail transit project.
LG Electronics will address the growing heat challenges in data centers with its advanced large-scale cooling systems.
LG Energy Solution will provide battery systems to ensure uninterrupted operation during power outages, along with fire prevention technologies to safeguard data integrity.
This marks a significant step for LG in tapping into the rapidly evolving AI and digital infrastructure markets.
