[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] According to the retail industry on the 20th, AliExpress is handling numerous products on its Korean-language website that are similar to those sold by Coupang through direct imports from China and Rocket Delivery.
Unlike Coupang, AliExpress operates by onboarding sellers who act as intermediaries rather than directly importing the products.
On the product sales pages, images of Rocket Delivery are also displayed as they are. Phrases like 'Imported directly by Coupang' are also noticeable.
This strategy is seen as leveraging the recognition of Coupang, Korea's largest ecommerce platform, and Rocket Delivery for sales.
Coupang has expressed intentions to actively respond to AliExpress's unauthorized use of trademarks.
