[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] An Asiana Airlines passenger plane crashed into another aircraft while being driven by a towing vehicle at Los Angeles Airport. The Asiana Airlines plane flew about 13 hours after the accident and arrived at Incheon International Airport, which is under fire over whether it was involved in the crash.
Aviation SNSs and others claimed that the Asiana Airlines passenger plane flew without being aware of the accident, while Asiana Airlines countered, "We had a long bowel operation (taking off the damaged part) immediately after the accident."
Asiana Airlines Flight A380 and Fiji Flight A350 collided at Los Angeles Airport on the 27th (local time), according to The Segye Times reports.
After the accident, Fiji Airlines A350, which was about to depart for the western city of Nadi, canceled its flight, and Asiana Airlines A380 left for Incheon International Airport as scheduled.
The accident reportedly damaged the wingtip of Asiana Airlines flight A380 and the plane's horizontal tail wing of Fiji Airlines flight A350. However, Asiana Airlines did not reveal how damaged the wingtip was on the left and right sides.
Fortunately, no passengers were on board on either plane at the time of the crash, so there were no casualties.
"There were no passengers or crew members on the plane at the time of the accident," Fijian Airlines said. "The accident is expected to cause some delays in the service over the next few days."
