[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] HMM, South Korea’s largest shipping company formerly known as Hyundai Merchant Marine, announced on April 25 that it has not notified SK Shipping of any decision to halt the acquisition process and that the deal is still underway.
The company issued this clarification in response to media reports suggesting that HMM had decided to suspend its efforts to acquire SK Shipping’s business units.
"We have not informed SK Shipping of any suspension of the acquisition process," an HMM spokesperson said. "The process is ongoing."
