[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Display announced on the 29th that it will introduce OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology for aircraft cabins in collaboration with Boeing and LIG Nex1.
LG Display will participate in the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2024, which will be held in Hamburg, Germany, until the 30th. AIX 2024 is the world's largest aircraft interior exhibition, with over 13,000 attendees from around 400 companies, including airlines and parts manufacturers.
The smart cabin solution unveiled by the three companies at AIX 2024 is a technology developed jointly since 2020 under the leadership of Boeing Korea Technology Center (BKETC). The focus was on applying OLED panels for aircraft use.
The three companies plan to continue technology development and testing to actually apply OLED technology to aircraft.
