[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] According to the latest chart released by U.S. music media Billboard on the 12th (local time), the title track "Standing Next to You" of BTS Jungkook's solo album "GOLDEN" ranked 85th, down two notches from the main song chart "Hot 100."
"Standing Next to You" first entered the "Hot 100" (November 18, 2023) for the fifth time and stayed in the rankings for 18 consecutive weeks. This is a new record, the longest chart of 'Hot 100' among Jeongkook's personal songs.
Jungkook's song that stayed in "Hot 100" for the longest time after "Standing Next to You" is "Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)" (17 weeks), a collaboration with Charlie Puth. It is followed by the solo single "Seven (feat. Latto)" (15 weeks), which was released in July last year.
"Standing Next to You" is also the song that has maintained the ranking for the longest time among Korean solo singers who have entered the "Hot 100" for the past 10 years. As such, "Standing Next to You" has become another mega-hit song following "Seven," which won a trophy to Jungkook at the "2023 MTV Video Music Awards" and "2023 MTV European Music Awards."
"GOLDEN" with "Standing Next to You" ranked 90th on Billboard's main album chart "Billboard 200." The album was also ranked on the Billboard 200 for 18 consecutive weeks, breaking the new record, the longest chart among Korean solo singers' albums.
