[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] KakaoBank announced on the 6th that it has been selected as a participating company for the issuance of mobile identification cards in collaboration with Kakao.
KakaoBank and Kakao joined forces on this project to provide a stable mobile ID service by leveraging their experience in operating mobile services and their security technologies. In the future, users will be able to issue and use mobile IDs provided by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety through the KakaoBank and Kakao apps.
KakaoBank and Kakao were selected by a selection committee consisting of eight experts in various fields, based on criteria such as user convenience, safety, and activation plans. Starting in June, the companies plan to develop the necessary systems and, following an adequacy evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, will launch the mobile ID service.
