[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] According to financial sources on the 3rd, BNK Kyongnam Bank convened its board of directors on the 1st and decided to reclaim parts of the performance bonuses paid from 2021 to 2023, including profit-sharing bonuses, organizational performance bonuses, and IB organizational performance bonuses. As a result, around 2,200 employees of BNK Kyongnam Bank are expected to have their performance bonuses reclaimed, averaging between 1 to 2 million KRW per person. During this period, the average performance bonus received by an employee was approximately 4.8 million KRW.

Earlier, the board of directors of BNK Kyongnam Bank decided to revise its financial statements for 2021 to 2023 in March to reflect losses due to embezzlement. At that time, a net loss of 43.5 billion KRW was recorded, leading to a sharp decline in profits. A BNK Kyongnam Bank official explained, "Although profits were generated and performance bonuses were paid out, the decrease in profits due to embezzlement necessitates legally reclaiming the bonuses."

BNK Kyongnam Bank plans to initiate the reclamation process around the end of the year, following the completion of financial statement audits by the Financial Supervisory Service.
