GM gained nearly 40% of the US small SUV market share in the first quarter

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] General Motors (GM) achieved nearly 40% of the US small SUV market in the first quarter of this year.
According to Power Information Network (PIN) of JD Power (JD Power), a US market research firm, GM accounted for 39.5% of the US small SUV market in the first quarter of this year.
The driving forces behind the popularity are the Chevrolet Trax crossover and Trailblazer. The market share of the two models is 18.6% and 11.5%, respectively.
Among them, the market share of the Chevrolet Trax crossover rose 15%p from the first quarter of last year. In February, it surpassed Subaru Crosstrack in the US small SUV market and topped the monthly small SUV sales model for the first time.
GM sold a total of 594,233 units in the U.S. market during the first quarter with its popular model at the forefront.
