[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 13th that it has identified manufacturing defects in 36,897 vehicles across 17 models produced by Kia, Porsche, Renault, Toyota, General Motors (GM), and Hyundai, and has issued a recall.

The government will start corrective actions from the 12th of this month for 19,291 units of the Kia Forte due to insufficient durability of the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU). Additionally, for 11,896 units of the Kia Bongo 3, 11,784 units will be recalled for defective Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) tank manufacturing, and 112 units for high-pressure pump manufacturing defects in the engine, starting from the 18th.

Porsche is recalling 3,087 units of eight models, including the Cayenne, due to a software error in the driving assistance system that fails to provide visual signals to the driver while the lane-keeping function is active, which does not meet safety standards. This corrective action started on the 7th.

Renault's MASTER model is subject to a recall of 1,830 units due to side marker light intensity not meeting the minimum safety standards, with corrective actions beginning on the 7th of this month. Toyota is recalling 524 units of three models, including the Avalon Hybrid, due to manufacturing defects in the circuit board of the passenger seat occupant detection sensor, starting from the 13th.

General Motors is conducting a recall for 159 units of the Traverse model because the reflective performance of the rear and side reflectors does not meet the minimum safety standards. Corrective actions for these vehicles began on the 12th.

Hyundai is recalling 110 units of the Porter 2 model due to manufacturing defects in the high-pressure pump of the engine, with corrective actions starting on the 18th.

Owners of the affected vehicles can receive free repairs at the respective manufacturers' service centers. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport recommends swift corrective action to prevent safety accidents caused by vehicle defects.
