[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Foxconn, Apple's largest partner, is set to invest $13.8 billion to establish a new business headquarters in China, according to reports from Reuters and other outlets on the 24th.
Foxconn announced that it has signed a contract with the Henan provincial government to establish a new business headquarters in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, covering an area of approximately 283 hectares.
Under the agreement, the Henan government will support Foxconn's construction of the new headquarters. In return, Foxconn plans to build a global manufacturing industry chain and a new industrial ecosystem in Henan Province.
Foxconn had initially announced its plan to build a new headquarters in Henan Province in April, but the investment amount was not disclosed at that time.
