[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 10th that the business discussions held at the Korea Pavilion during MWC 2025 (Mobile World Congress 2025), which took place from March 3 to 6 in Barcelona, Spain, have led to continued success for participating Korean companies.
This year’s MWC hosted a total of 2,700 companies, with 192 Korean firms accounting for 7% of the total exhibitors. The event attracted approximately 110,000 visitors, and at the Korea Pavilion alone, 4,121 buyers engaged in 680 consultations, resulting in a total consultation value of $103.68 million and potential contract value of $54.37 million.
Additionally, five Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed between Korean companies and buyers from the UK, Spain, and other countries. As a business-to-business (B2B) exhibition, MWC is known for its high proportion of executive-level buyers, facilitating swift decision-making. Notably, 59% of buyers visiting the Korea Pavilion held C-level positions or higher.
Through collaboration with KOTRA’s European Regional Headquarters, 50 European buyers and investors from 14 countries also visited the Korea Pavilion, leading to additional on-site MOU agreements. Notable achievements included Petnow, a company specializing in AI-based biometric recognition for pets, which signed an MOU with Spain’s Z, a cat identification platform.
The two companies plan to collaborate on a project with the Barcelona city government, with Petnow aiming to expand further into major European markets. Additionally, BatteryFly, a provider of automotive battery solutions, signed an on-site MOU with the UK-based M, a mobility solutions provider, to strengthen technical cooperation between the two companies.
For this year’s MWC, KOTRA expanded its Korea Pavilion to the largest scale in history as part of the government’s initiative to enhance support for overseas exhibitions. The integrated Korea Pavilion featured 147 companies across 9 organizations, marking a 25% increase in participation compared to the previous year.
Several individual companies also achieved notable success. CIT (CiT), which participated in MWC for the second time through KOTRA’s Korea Pavilion, attracted attention with its Dolphin, a transparent antenna developed with proprietary technology. Having won both the CES Innovation Award and the Gadget Award, CIT continued its momentum at MWC, engaging in business discussions with major global firms such as U.S.-based N and SpaceX. The company successfully strengthened relationships with existing partners while also securing new buyers.
KOTRA remains committed to supporting Korean companies in expanding their global presence and leveraging MWC 2025 as a stepping stone for further international success.
