[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] T'way Air, the first South Korean low-cost carrier (LCC) to launch an Incheon-Paris route, faced a significant setback as its inaugural flight was canceled due to an aircraft malfunction.
According to a report by News1 on the 29th, the issue was discovered on flight TW402, which was scheduled to depart from Paris to Incheon at 8:30 PM local time the previous day. The flight was originally expected to arrive at Incheon Airport at 3:40 PM on the 29th.
T'way Air provided hotel accommodations for passengers stranded in Paris and deployed a replacement aircraft from Incheon to Paris to resolve the issue. The replacement flight was announced to depart Paris at 6:30 PM local time on the 29th, with an expected arrival in Incheon at 1:10 PM on the 30th, resulting in a delay of nearly 21 hours and 40 minutes. A total of 143 passengers were affected by the cancellation.
