[Alpha Biz= Kim Sangjin] Hanwha Solutions' Q CELLS Division Sells Two Large-Scale Solar Power Projects in Colorado and Virginia
Hanwha Solutions announced on Wednesday that its Q CELLS division has sold two large-scale solar power projects in Colorado and Virginia to a global Independent Power Producer (IPP).
The solar power projects, with a total capacity of 446MW, will produce over 845GWh of renewable energy annually once completed, enough to power approximately 80,000 households in the U.S.
The 324MW power plant in Colorado began its EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) work in July last year and is expected to be completed and operational by 2026. The 122MW plant in Virginia is currently in the development phase and will begin construction in 2026, with plans to be completed and commercially operational by 2027.
Even after the sale, Hanwha Q CELLS will continue to develop the projects and carry out EPC work. The company will also supply solar modules manufactured at its largest solar manufacturing hub in North America, ‘Solar Hub,’ located in Georgia, and source key materials for the projects.
