[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Following the explosion and fire at POSCO's Pohang Steelworks No. 3 Finex plant on the 10th, a Pohang-based civic group has begun preparations for a compensation lawsuit.

On the 17th, the Pohang Youth Environmental Association announced its plans to file a compensation lawsuit against POSCO and started recruiting affected individuals to join the litigation.

Since the 16th, the group has displayed banners across Pohang to gather participants for the lawsuit. Although the accident did not directly harm the group’s members, they claim that the shockwave and loud explosion caused significant distress to many citizens.

The civic group aims to represent the broader community and ensure accountability for the incident’s impact on local residents.
