Naver and Kakao Invest Record Amounts in AI Technology Development

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Kakao and Naver are making their largest-ever investments in artificial intelligence (AI) technology development. Kakao has already achieved its highest-ever R&D investment by spending 972 billion won by the third quarter of this year, a 21% increase from last year.
Meanwhile, Naver has announced plans for its largest investment to expand the AI ecosystem. Both companies are focusing heavily on AI technology and service development, which is expected to enhance their competitive edge in the AI sector.
Kakao's new AI team, "Kanana," has already produced AI-driven services and models, while also adopting an "orchestration" strategy that combines in-house models with open-source and global language models.
