[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Choi Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, visited the headquarters of Santa Clara NVIDIA in California on the 24th (local time) and met with CEO Jensen Huang. It is estimated that AI semiconductor cooperation has been discussed, including high bandwidth memory (HBM), which is growing due to innovation in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
According to SK on the 25th, Chairman Choi went on a business trip to the United States, met with CEO Hwang, and uploaded a photo taken at Hwang CEO and NVIDIA headquarters on his Instagram. He also posted a photo of a booklet presented by CEO Hwang to Chairman Choi, saying, "For our partnership, to create the future of AI and humanity."
The visit is interpreted as an external emphasis on the partnership between SK and NVIDIA in the AI semiconductor market. SK Hynix dominated the market in June last year by supplying NVIDIA's fourth-generation 'HBM3', an AI HBM product.
