[Alpha Biz= Kim Sangjin] Taiwanese actress and wife of DJ and rapper Koo Jun-yeop (56), Xu Xiyuan (48, also known as Barbie Hsu), has passed away in Japan from complications of the flu and pneumonia. Reports suggest that she had been suffering from severe cold symptoms even before her trip.
According to Monday reports from Taiwanese media outlets like 'NOW News,' Xu Xiyuan was transferred to the hospital four times before her passing. Another media outlet, ET Today, revealed that before traveling to Japan with her family on January 29, she had been showing symptoms of a cough and asthma. Just three days after arriving in Japan, she was taken to the emergency room.
While doctors at the local hospital recommended she transfer to a larger facility, Xu Xiyuan opted to take prescribed medication and felt some improvement, declining further treatment. Tragically, she passed away during her trip to Japan during the Lunar New Year holiday. The cause of death has been confirmed as pneumonia caused by the flu.
