[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] According to industry sources on the 4th, Doosan Enerbility has sold its instrumentation and control (I&C) specialist subsidiary, HF Controls (Doosan HFC), to its major partner, E2S.
Based in Dallas, Texas, USA, HF Controls, a subsidiary of Doosan Enerbility, designs and manufactures nuclear safety-grade and non-safety-grade control systems.
Having established itself as a prominent player in the global nuclear power I&C system installation field, the company was incorporated into the Doosan Group in 2000.
This deal was a result of the synergies between the two parties. E2S is a major partner of Doosan Enerbility, and through this sale, both companies plan to continue their strong collaborative relationship in the nuclear power business.
A Doosan Enerbility official explained, "We deemed control system design and manufacturing as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises and decided to sell it. There will be no business disruption due to this sale."
Meanwhile, Doosan Enerbility plans to focus on its exclusive nuclear instrumentation and control system (MMIS) business, which serves as the nucleus of nuclear power plants.
