[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Hyundai Motor's Ulsan plant is reportedly experiencing partial production disruptions on the 23rd due to a fire at a parts supplier. According to Hyundai Motor, some production lines at the Ulsan plant were halted that morning.
The production issues stem from a fire at the Ulsan plant of Motras, a subsidiary of Hyundai Mobis, which supplies modules and electronic components to Hyundai Motor. The fire broke out at Motras Ulsan Plant 1 at around 3:58 a.m. and was extinguished within two hours.
Due to the significant smoke within the factory, operations are expected to be delayed until ventilation is complete. Fortunately, the production line at Motras did not suffer direct damage, and it is anticipated that parts supply will normalize soon.
