[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Chairman Choi Taewon's side of SK Group has decided to take legal action against the initial perpetrator responsible for spreading the divorce lawsuit verdict through messengers and other means on the 30th of last month, citing the leaking of the document.
Choi's legal representative announced on the 1st that they plan to report the unidentified perpetrator who initially disseminated the divorce verdict online to the police for defamation.
Choi's side stated, "We confirmed that the entire verdict document has been circulating on certain social media and online communities since the 31st of last month," and emphasized, "Spreading the verdict document containing private conversations among family members, including children, without permission is a serious criminal act."
They further added, "In the future, we will take firm legal action against not only the initial perpetrator but also those who intentionally spread the verdict document to multiple individuals without consent or agreement."
Previously, the Seoul High Court's Family Division 2 ordered Chairman Choi to pay 1.3808 trillion won for property division and 20 billion won for alimony to his ex-wife. Considering that the initial verdict in the first trial was 665 billion won for property division and 1 billion won for alimony, Choi's financial burden has significantly increased.
