[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LS Electric Chairman Koo Ja-kyun said on the 7th that the balance of orders for "EV Relay," a component for electric vehicle power control produced by LS e-Mobility Solutions, a subsidiary of electric vehicle parts, has reached 2 trillion won. It also plans to deliver EV relays to Ford in the United States from the end of this year.
EV relay is a key component for power control for electric vehicles developed. It acts as a switch to supply or block the electrical energy of the battery in the powertrain (power unit) that drives the electric vehicle.
LS e-Mobility Solutions is a subsidiary established by LS Electric in 2022 by physically splitting the EV Relay division. In February last year, the company completed a plant with a capacity to produce 5 million EV relays and 4 million battery-blocking units (BDU) in Durango, Mexico, targeting the North American market.
Koo also announced plans to deliver EV Relay to Ford in the U.S. at the end of the year.
