[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Shinsegae Group Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin was promoted to chairman on the 8th. It is the first promotion in 18 years since he became vice chairman in 2006. Lee Myung-hee continues to serve as the head of Shinsegae Group as the head of the group.
Regarding the personnel reshuffle, Shinsegae said it is a decision to "break through the rapidly changing environment around Chairman Chung Yong-jin." It intends to start responsible management with Chairman Chung at the forefront as the crisis escalated, with the group's sales falling for the first time last year.
