[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Naver (NAVER) is set to introduce mid-roll advertisements on its streaming platform, CHZZK, to enhance profitability through ad revenue and ad removal products.
According to the IT industry on the 11th, CHZZK will implement mid-roll ads starting from the 13th. These ads will initially be applied to PC users, while the ad removal products will be available for purchase on both PC and mobile web platforms.
Revenue from mid-roll ads will be combined with existing ad revenue without separate distinctions. Although revenue from the ad removal product will begin to accumulate from its launch, it will only be possible to confirm these earnings from the end of June. The accumulated ad revenue will be disbursed starting from the July settlement.
Mid-roll ads will appear during LIVE broadcasts and VOD (video-on-demand) content. The revenue generated from viewing mid-roll ads will be distributed to streamers using the same criteria as pre-roll ads. Pro and partner streamers will have the option to defer ads and set the ad intervals.
