In Kakao, which announced the abolition of the telecommuting system in March, employees are even joining the labor union at once.

According to the industry on the 11th, the Kakao union is expected to achieve a "majority union" as early as this week, with half of its headquarters employees becoming union members. Until the second half of last year, Kakao's union membership rate was only 10%. However, at the end of last year, when Kakao announced that it would switch to an office commuting system from March, the union membership rate reached almost 50% in just a week. As of the end of June last year, Kakao had 3,600 employees. Kakao is the first IT Internet company to achieve a majority union at the level of Kakao.

The Kakao labor union is determined to actively speak out against the company regarding the reorganization of the work system. 

 

"We will deal with internal leadership issues such as the work system and top management right now," said Seo Seung-wook, chairman of Kakao Crew Union. "If we become a majority union, we will be much more empowered when we make a sound."
