[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Samsung Electronics is known to have recently recruited two executives from its rival Swedish telecommunications equipment company Ericsson.

According to the industry on the 29th, Samsung Electronics recently established a task force (TF) for new business strategies under its network division and appointed Henrik Jansson-Schweizer managing director Ericsson as TF head. At the same time, Cho Mi-sun, a former Ericsson executive, was recruited to find European sales and new businesses.

Such active recruitment of outside talent seems to be a strategy to accelerate the development of next-generation telecommunication businesses that Chairman Lee Jae-yong is taking care of himself. Earlier, Samsung Electronics promoted Kim Woo-joon, head of strategic marketing at its network division, to president, saying it contributed to the growth of its network business at the end of last year.
