[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Chem actively explained Tesla's recent order cut (order reduction) in the market at the 2022 earnings presentation conference call on the 31st as "groundless."

Lee Young-seok, head of LG Chem's high-tech materials management strategy division, said in a conference call, "There are concerns about slowing growth in the electric vehicle market, but we still expect the market to grow by 20-40%," adding, "We expect the high-tech materials headquarters to continue to grow."

"The reduction in orders (Tesla) is groundless, and it will grow more than 70% in the first quarter of this year based on volume after customer inventory adjustment in the fourth quarter of last year," he said. "We aim to grow more than 60% in the first quarter of this year compared to last year."
