[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Mobis' sales from global automakers exceeded 5 trillion won last year. Analysts say that the strategy to reduce dependence on Hyundai Motor and Kia is working.

Hyundai Mobis announced on the 31st that it won an order worth 4.65 billion dollars (about 5.7 trillion won) last year for finished car customers such as North America and Europe. It nearly doubled from $2.52 billion a year earlier, exceeding last year's target. This year's target is $5.36 billion, 15% more than last year.

The company explained that orders were made mainly for high value-added parts such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and electric vehicle parts. 

 

Previously, most of them were North American customers, but orders from Europe have also increased noticeably since last year. Hyundai Mobis' overseas orders account for 11% of last year's total sales (51.9 trillion won).
