[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] It has been confirmed that more than 90% of the equipment that goes into two of the three factories built by Blue Oval SK in the U.S. is equipment from Korean companies. The other place is known to be before the order.

According to the battery industry and the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on June 6, Blue Oval SK recently completed the selection of equipment companies for BOSK Kentucky Plant 1 and Tennessee Plant. Blue Oval SK is building two 43 gigawatt hours (GWh) factories in Kentucky, USA, and one 43 GWh plant in Tennessee. Most of the equipment orders were completed at the end of last month, except for the 2nd plant in Kentucky, which has not yet been ordered. Some of the remaining orders are scheduled to be completed within this month.

Until recently, orders for Blue Oval SK equipment were about 920 billion won. Of these, about 740 billion won is estimated to be Korean equipment. SK ON expects Korean companies to enjoy about 2 trillion won in economic effects, including job creation, by ordering Blue Oval SK equipment.
