[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Apple and Hyundai Card officially announced their plans to release Apple Pay, Apple's non-contact simple payment system, in Korea on the 8th. It is expected to be available from next month.

"Apple is planning to release Apple Pay in Korea," Apple said in an e-mail announcement. "We will announce details later."

As Apple and Hyundai Card officially announce the launch of Apple Pay, Hyundai Card members who own iPhones are expected to be able to pay with Apple Pay soon. Apple Pay is available through a proximity wireless communication (NFC) terminal. In other words, payments can be made at stores that own NFC terminals. The specific timing of the service's implementation has not been confirmed, and it is known that it is likely to be next month.

With the official announcement of the two companies, Apple Pay will be used through Hyundai Card first. Other credit card companies can also launch services after signing contracts with Apple.
