[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Apple Pay, Apple's near-field communication (NFC) payment service, is expected to be available in Korea from the end of this month.

According to the financial sector and the simple payment industry on the 6th, the launch date of Apple Pay's Korean service is expected to be the end of this month. Initially, Apple Pay was likely to be released earlier this month, but its release schedule has been pushed back due to problems with device supply.

Earlier, Apple and Hyundai Card officially announced plans to launch Apple Pay in Korea on the 8th of last month.

Meanwhile, Naver Pay and Samsung Pay, the top players in the online and offline payment market, have established alliances against Apple Pay. It is predicted that Samsung Pay will be available at Naver Pay online merchants as early as the end of this month and Naver Pay will also be available at offline Samsung Pay merchants.
