[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] LG Electronics will promote the R&D center operated in Vietnam to an official corporation and strengthen the fast-growing electric vehicle business.

LG Electronics announced on the 9th that it held the opening ceremony of LG Electronics Vietnam R&D Corporation in Hanoi, Vietnam on the 8th.

LG Electronics Vietnam R&D Corporation is responsible for software development and verification of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system. Infotainment, which is concentrated by LG Electronics' VS Business Headquarters, is a compound word of information (Information) and entertainment (Entertainment) and is considered a key technology in the future mobility field. Telematics, audio, video and navigation (AVN) are the main products that provide various information and entertainment functions related to driving at the same time.

LG Electronics is planning to strengthen its professional manpower and operation through the establishment of the R&D corporation. The company plans to increase the number of development personnel related to electronic components of Vietnam's R&D corporation, which currently has 750 employees, by more than 30% to 1,000 by 2024.
