[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KT Submarine announced on the 16th that it has signed a contract with LS Cable & System to install underwater cables for the 'Jeju Three-Linked Undersea Cable Construction Project'.

The contract amount is 20.2 billion won, which is about 47% of KT Servmarine's annual sales of 42.8 billion won last year. 

 

Under this contract, KT Submarine will carry out cable protection work by deploying a ship 'Mirae-ro' and an unmanned underwater submarine (ROV) specializing in laying about 90㎞ to Wando, Jeonnam. The contract period is until September 1st.

KT Submarine signed a contract for installation of 5.95 billion won last month and also signed a contract for installation, gaining experience in participating in the nation's large undersea power grid business. 

 

The company expects the project to expand participation in the construction of offshore wind farms around ASEAN and seabed linkage projects in island areas by strengthening cooperation with LS Cable and LS Cable Asia.
