[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung SDS was the final winner of Samsung Electronics' supply chain system construction project, where Samsung SDS and LG CNS fiercely competed for orders.

According to Samsung Electronics and other related industries on the 22nd, it was belatedly confirmed that Samsung SDS was selected as the preferred bidder for Samsung Electronics' supply chain system construction project worth 55 billion won earlier this month.

"Samsung SDS and Emro, which were competing with LG CNS, have won the business rights," a related official said. "We understand that we are currently planning to conduct PI consulting in the second stage."

Samsung SDS plans to start its own construction work in the third stage of the project.

Emro, a purchase supply chain management (SRM) company that participated in the project together, acquired a 33.39% stake in Samsung SDS and was incorporated into Samsung affiliates.

With the acquisition of Emro, Samsung SDS was evaluated to have a global integrated supply chain (SCM) platform capability that encompasses both planning, purchase and execution of the supply chain.
